Why am I a dress size 3/4, but a jeans size 7 & 8?
I got my dress (evening dress, for prom a few years ago) in the junior section. I just tried it on today, out of curiosity, and it still fits. Amazed, I looked at the size and it said, clearly, 3/4.

Because a dress is normally fitted around the torso and breasts, and jeans are fitted for your butt, waist, leg width and legth.
You probably have a smaller upper half than bottom half.
I’m in the same boat.

Can a tailor change a size 12 dress change it to a size 8 dress?
My only choice is to order a size 12 dress for an important event even though im a size12 , Would a tailor be able to adjust the dress to fit me?

Is dress size 8 considered fat?
I’m 16 years old, and I fit into a size 8 for most dresses. I’m 5’7, 115 lbs, medium bust (C), but everyone I know is sizes 2-6 even with similar proportions to me and it makes me feel kind of fat. What do you think? Please don’t be rude, and have a nice day!
By your guys’ answers, I’m starting to think that I was measured wrong and might be less than size 8 because I have almost no muscle and no curves. Or maybe like some of you said I just wear things more loosely, which could be true as I don’t like tight-fitting dresses.

I’m 5’8 and 145 pounds, and a size 8. So I’m thinking that if you’re a size 8 at a tiny 115 pounds, you must have fairly big hips, which I think is really sexy. I’m not fat, my stomach is really flat, just curvy (hips ‘n stuff) so no, I don’t think you’re even close to overweight or “chubby” and there’s no way you are “fat.”

Wow. I love the colour! I love the simplicity of the dress, the colour is the statement. Love it. I think it’d be so much nicer than red for winter, that’s done to death. It’s also so vibrant it’d work for spring/summer too.
